World Suicide
Prevention Day

About 800,000 people die of suicide every year, that is one person every 40 seconds. That one person that dies every 40 seconds is someone’s sister, brother, wife, husband, father, mother, friend, neighbour. That is one life blown out like a candle.

One every 40 seconds.

Our World’s Suicide Prevention Day is a campaign that seeks to raise awareness about the prevalence of suicide in our society and the ways we can prevent it by identifying the risk factors.

Who Should Be Concerned?
You And I

It concerns everyone as a whole and it doesn’t matter whether or not you have lost someone to suicide. It is our social and collective responsibility to look out for one another, especially the ones closest to us. We all have to be equipped with the right knowledge to identify signs that a person might be suicidal, or that they are struggling badly with their mental health.
